New Integrated Research Application System (IRAS) Training Course

Infonetica are now offering a half-day training session providing guidance and hands-on practice in the use of IRAS.

IRAS is a single integrated research application system for capturing the information needed to apply for approval from the major regulatory and governance bodies in the UK and will replace current application systems in 2008:

  • Administration of Radioactive Substances Advisory Committee (ARSAC)
  • Gene Therapy Advisory Committee (GTAC)
  • Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA)
  • Ministry of Justice (National Offender Management Service)
  • NHS / HSC research offices
  • NRES/ NHS / HSC Research Ethics Committees
  • Patient Information Advisory Group (PIAG)

The course is aimed at research applicants and R&D support personnel and offers guidance on all aspects of online form management.

  • Navigating IRAS
  • The integrated dataset
  • Form and contact management
  • Transferring forms for collaboration
  • Importing and exporting xml and EudraCT data
  • Submission requirements and procedures
  • Monitoring submitted applications
  • Submitting notifications of amendments
  • Electronic signatures
  • The National Institute for Health Research Coordinated System for Gaining NHS Permission (CSP)

Course delivery

Delivery of the practical hands-on session is approximately 3 ½ hours, with a maximum of 10 delegates per session. Alternatively, for larger groups we offer a 2 hour lecture style presentation.
