Position Overview
As part of the global sales team, this role will identify potential customers across the research industry, build and nurture relationships, and convert prospects into loyal customers. A focus on understanding the needs of customers and aligning the company's products and services to meet those needs is key.
The NA markets currently of primary focus for this role are the western states of Canada and North America, hence our strong preference for the successful candidate to be based in British Columbia, Washington, Oregon or northern California. This role with work to define the strategy for expansion into new markets. Travel across North America to customers and industry events is a natural part of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Generation: Work with the marketing team to utilise various channels such as cold calling, email marketing, social media, and networking events to identify and generate new leads.
- Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with industry influencers and potential customers in the Higher Education and Research sectors across the region.
- Sales Presentations: Prepare and deliver persuasive sales presentations and software demonstrations to customers, highlighting the unique selling points of the Infonetica's offerings and their value proposition
- Proposal Development: Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to create customised proposals and quotes that align with the customer's specific requirements.
- RFPs: Take responsibility for the competition of high quality responses to RFPs for customers in the NA region, project managing those from across Infonetica’s teams who support winning submissions.
- Negotiations: Engage in negotiations with customers to finalise contracts and agreements
- Sales Targets: Work towards achieving individual and team sales targets and contribute to the overall business development objectives of the organisation.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, customer interactions, and sales pipeline using Hubspot.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and customer success to ensure seamless customer experiences
Qualifications and Skills
· Bachelor's degree in business, marketing and/or certifications in sales and business development
· Proven track record in sales and business development, ideally from within the Research and / or Higher Education sector
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong customer relationships at all levels from front-line user to board level
· Strong negotiation and persuasion abilities to close deals and meet sales targets
· Results-driven and self-motivated with a focus on achieving and exceeding sales goals
· Familiarity with CRM software and sales tools for efficient lead tracking and management
· Good analytical skills to assess market trends, customer behaviour, and competition
· Able to learn the company's offerings to effectively communicate their value to customers
· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Salary & Benefits
- Salary Range: CAD $75 - $85k base
- Commission based on quarterly target
