On 23 January, we had the pleasure of hosting the Infonetica Customer Day, welcoming 80 customers from 50 institutions from the UK, Canada, South Africa, and beyond. Whether in person or online, our customers came together to share experiences, provide feedback and network with their peers and the Infonetica team.
The day was packed with insightful presentations, engaging discussions, and collaborative workshops.
We’re pleased that over 90% of those who responded to the feedback form said they’d like to attend next year – that’s a real success!
Here’s a recap of the highlights:
Customer Presentation: Lessons from the University of Bath
We were delighted to have Filipa Vance and Dace Rozenberga from the University of Bath share their journey with Ethics@Bath. Their presentation focused on workflows and lessons learned during their first year of using Ethics RM.
They highlighted the importance of having a clear vision and staying focused on it when implementing a new system. Their insights into leveraging Ethics RM to streamline processes and enhance ethical oversight were invaluable.

“I really enjoyed the customer presentation from Bath, it was super helpful to hear how they use the system” - Feedback from the day

We received excellent feedback from our customers, and we look forward to hosting more sessions like this in the future.
“It was nice to meet with the Infonetica team in person and to meet other users of the product.” - Feedback from the day
Panel discussion: AI in Research Ethics
One of the standout moments of the day was our interactive panel discussion on the role of AI in research ethics.
Led by Vydehi Chinta, Infonetica’s Head of Product, the session explored critical topics such as:
- Bringing AI expertise into ethics committees
- Upholding integrity and ethical standards in research
- Providing training for staff to help them navigate the implications of AI
Our panelists—Stephanie Armstrong (University of Lincoln), Filipa Vance (University of Bath), Eleni Flack-Davison (University of the Witwatersrand), and Rachael M. (University of Salford)—brought diverse perspectives and sparked a thought-provoking conversation.

"Ethical AI research isn’t just about compliance—it’s about responsibility. The discussion was thought-provoking, with practical takeaways for institutions to strengthen ethical frameworks in AI research. As AI continues to evolve, so must our commitment to fairness, transparency, and accountability." - Vydehi Chinta, Head of Product

“It was a really useful and interesting day. Thanks to everyone at Infonetica for arranging and the opportunity to be part of the panel.” - Rachael M., Research Governance & Policy Manager, University of Salford.
Interactive Product Roadmap Workshop
The day also featured an interactive workshop led by two of our Product Managers, Steven Dowse and Kaviraj Khurana. Customers had the opportunity to weigh in on product developments and help prioritise our roadmap. This collaborative session was a fantastic way to ensure that Ethics RM continues to evolve in line with our customers’ needs.
“It was really great to see significant engagement with the product roadmap prioritisation workshop from both in-person and online attendees. As Infonetica's Product Manager, it's really helpful to agree our priorities live in the room with the users themselves, helping us to understand exactly what matters most to our customers and using this to guide our development. As always, the suggestions we least expect are often the most informative and we look forward to implementing these” - Steve Dowse, Product Manager
